I needed to upgrade my alarm, so I bought a new one with remote start. The
older alarm was taken out, but I cannot afford to pay the installation.
Is it incredibly difficult to install the alarm myself? Is there a guide/steps you
can refer me to?

To start with, I suggest you go back to your seller for
the after sale support you deserve & paid for.
He should help you with the wiring chart for truck,
installation Q&A and online service/warranty advice.

I do that level here for my own equipment buyers.
