QuestionQUESTION: Hi. I have the Hyundai factory installed alarm system on my Tiburon and
yesterday when I went to keylessly enter my vehicle after driving it to the
store, the car would not unlock. I used the key to open the door and the
alarm was set off. The car won't start because it thinks I'm trying to steal the
car. Is there a way to disable the alarm so I can drive it? Did I accidentally do
something wrong to the keyless entry and that's why it's not working? I have a
new car battery and I replaced the keyless entry battery because this all
occured in front if a Target store and replacing the battery didn't work. Any
help you can give me would be great. I've never experienced this before.
Thanks.
ANSWER: I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.
Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET
Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: The lights flas, the horn honks and a hi pitched sound as well. I didn't note
any LEDs flashing. I thought it was factory because the fob has the Hyundai
logo on it. There are two buttons on it as well. A large one that locks the car
and sets the alarm and a small one that unlocks the car and turns the alarm
off.
AnswerAh, sorry I do apologize,
but my expertise is in after
market vehicle alarm systems.
If yours is indeed a factory system,
I suggest talking to one of the
