QuestionQUESTION: I have a 97 acura integra gsr and the car alarm worked when I bought it from the previous owner, and it all of a sudden stopped working. It will work for some time, then stop working again, and recently it hasn't worked at all. I asked the previous owner if it was doing that to him and he said it hadn't done it in a while and he has no idea what it is. What is wrong with it?
ANSWER: I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.
Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET
Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: My 97 acura integra gsr, does have a factory alarm that doesn't always work. I have tried a few tricks I have heard of such as turning your ignition key and then pressing the lock and unlock button, but that didn't work too well. I was thinking it was mayb the battery to my lock and unlock button key, but I had someone tell me that the key I have doesn't have batteries. I have no idea what it could be, and really don't want to pay $100 to be told what is wrong with it. I would really appreciate it if you had any sort of feedback.
