Car Alarms: 1995 240sx alarm remote, resident technicians, 240sx

I have a 1995 240sx that I bought recently and have a problem with the alarm remote. It came with a prestige remote and it does not disarm or arm the vehicle sometimes. Is there a way to fix this problem?
