Car Alarms: Nissan Primera car alarm, alarmtek, nissan primera

The batteries in my alarm arming/disarming fob ran out a while back, and I was slow to replace them.  When I did, it no longer worked.  How can I reset the key fob to the cars alarm?  The car is a 97 Nissan Primera
