Car Alarms: factory alpine alarm in a 1998 bmw z3, bmw z3, valet mode

Question
just put a new stereo in my BMW z3 and had to unhook the battery and now the alarm does not work. when i hit the lock and unlock button it beeps at me three times but all doors,trunk and hood are close. its almost like its in a valet mode. if it is in a valet how do i take it out or is it a different problem

I unfortunately don't know the
system you are working with to advise
you properly on it's functions,
features or trouble shooting
information. Better to check with a tech
that might.
