Car Alarms: alarm sender reset after new battery, mitsubishi galant, remote transmitters

hi there have an 8th gen mitsubishi galant 2.5 v6 uk spec 1997 went to switch alarm on and lock the car nothing happened is original alarm with warning light on dash and imobaliser changed battery in key fob still nothing wont lock unlock can you tell me a way to reset this key fob many thanks
