Car Alarms: 2001 jeep alarm, jeep grand cherokee, optonline net

I have a 2001 Jeep grand Cherokee limited with the security system *remote door lock open and alarm (It does not have a remote start engine feature to clarify) At the time I purchased the car I was offered a remote alarm option (stop engine-lock hood-etc.)that was installed by the jeep dealer.  I have had no problems until recently...it will sometimes on a rainy day trigger the alarm car horn light when I press the unlock function (also at times weird low and high sounds emanate from the grille sporadically)  they installed a red button for me to engage and disengage the alarm...but I can't use that
since it will not allow me to turn it off and any attempt will make the horn sound and lights flash...any suggestions I think it is a viper unit but not sure.
