QuestionWish I had seen this site a couple of days ago and my situation may have been fixed much easier. I had to replace a battery in my '97 Toyota, which I bought used and had no real knowledge about the installed security system. It had the classic symptoms I see here, would not start/turnover, flashing lights and horn blowing. Tried pushing the LED, not using the correct sequence, ended up breaking switch. Then, as I was pulling on wires to try to get access from dash front to do check wiring (w/ multimeter) and outsmart and the plug pulled loose. Needless to say, car is still disabled; and I am now ready to seek professional help. Any suggestions?
AnswerNo, I say fish out the brain box, and re plug
the valet switch. Once done, go into rest
mode (over ride) and that should be that.
If it's broken, I sell them here for 10.00. A Best Buy
or Circuit City may have some available to simply
sell to the public.
Cheaper then hiring out for this.
Good luck.
