QuestionI have a mint 1991 Miata which I was interested in having an engine kill security system installed. After several months of researching I found a system that is made by Wolf Motors in England, especially (and only) for Miatas. I bought the kit through mazdamania.com after a friend referred me to one of his buddies who assured me he could install the kit with no problem. I have the Haynes rebuild manual and the car is stock with no electrical alterations whatsoever. After leaving the car with him for 2 1/2 weeks he charged me 20 hours - $2000 (I supplied the kit), and told me that it actually took them more like 40 hours to install it! I would appreciate your opinion on installation times given the myriad of alarm companies who advertise $1 installation. Thanks.
AnswerSorry, but you can do starter kill in this vehicle
for less then 50.00 INSTALLED!(25 pounds)!
I do understand the desire for OEM equipment replacement, sure, but the difference here is just astounding.

Sorry, you caught me off guard with this one.
Not only is it way overpriced to acheive starter kill,
it seems they took complete advantage with the
labor as well.
I wish I had better news for you, but that's
just abusive. I suggest you discuss this with
the better business office near you.
See starter disable at www.relayhelp.com ,
and also the keypad disabler at www.12voltplanet.com
Both solutions are more than capable
and a fraction of the cost you paid.
But logic dictates you investigate this issue
for price gouging. I just can't imagine why
it took so long, or why it was so much.
I hope you can get some justice on this.
Good luck.
