Car Alarms: chapman key, honda accord, good answer

I bought a honda accord e-bay, and it had a chapman system. I have two questions can I turn off alarm system and still use my hand held lock/unlock. And I have a key that is 4 sided like an + does that have anything to do with the security system? The dealer knows nothing about it he is just a middle man I think.  Thank you rick
