Car Alarms: Test for trigger polarity, step explanation, handy info

I really need a step by step explanation on how to test for whether a car has a positive or negative door triggers. Can you help?  I want to install an alarm system but need this piece of info as the instructions just say "test for polarity"  Thanks, Skip

You will see how to probe and test for
the type of door triggers you have.

(Hint, only 1 manufacturer makes POSITIVE
typ door triggers, Ford. The rest are
going to be NEGATIVES.)

But learn how to test it first anyway.
