QuestionI went shopping today and locked my keys in the car. There was a bit of a space in the window so I was able to slip a wire in and unlock it. Then the alarm immediately went off. I some how manage to quiet it until I got home, but when I popped the trunk it went off again, and now I can't silence it. My husband disconnected the battery, but we don't have a car until we fix this.
We got the car used, it is a factory installed alarm, we only have a key and no remote locking, and no owner's manual. Also, read some of your other answers to similar questions, and I cannot see a "valet reset switch" as you describe it. The only thing I see is a white lever, with no spring, and we are afraid to push it as we don't know what it does. Please help me quick!
AnswerPlease tell me what you are experiencing.
I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.
Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?
Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.
