Car Alarms: anti theft, car alarm system, ford ranger

Hi
 I have a 1999 Ford Ranger. I want to know if it has a "passive anti-theft device".
 I know that the key does have a transponder in it, and
when the truck is not running there is a red light on the dash that flashes and says "theft".

Yes it has the PATS system,
"passive anti-theft system"
that is the transponder/immobilizor (key),
as well as a basic car alarm system.
(headlights flash, OEM horn honking)
