Car Alarms: Cavalier 2002 Keypad, alarmtek, dash area

QUESTION: Any button I push on my Keypad for my car makes the alarm go off. I need to know how to reset my Keypad. I know there is a way to do it, I just dont know how...

ANSWER: I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

QUESTION: It is the alarm and keypad that came with the car. The lights do not flash, just the alarm beeps rapidly. The only way I can shut it off is by pressing the alarm button twice on my keypad.

See, I was looking for the sound it makes.
It "beeps" is kinda vague. Is it the car horn
honking? Or is it like a siren chirping, or
something different?

If it's the siren choice,
it's likely to be an after market
and would have a way of disabling/resetting.

If factory, GM is going to need to help you
reset it.
