QuestionI have a late 1990's-vintage Clifford Arrow II alarm that has gone kinda wonky lately after unhooking the battery. Whenever I arm the car from the remote, the car locks and the alarm starts to go off. If I then disarm (to silence the alarm) and then re-arm, the car will lock fine and the alarm works as it should. I thought maybe unhooking the battery again might help, but it hasn't. Also, the car now locks the doors upon starting up the car and will unlock them when I turn the car off. I know this is a feature of the alarm, but I never enabled it and it only started happening after I disconnected the battery the first time.
I've been locking the car in Valet mode where the alarm does not go off. Is there a way to reset the alarm brain itself? It was working perfectly until now.
Thanks in advance!
AnswerYou can try unplugging it, but frankly I think
it was reset once already and is now acting in
a different, probably "default when powered
up" manner.
However, I don't know the Clifford line at all.
,so it all speculation for me.
Try www.directed.com and see if you can get
DEI to give you any user manual info.
Worth a shot. It does'nt sound as if you need
to scrap the alarm, just the feature programing
and capabilities list.
Good luck.
