Car Alarms: reset new fob w/alram activated, crimestopper, fobs

Question
My car was actively armed w/crimestopper 2000 system, and dog chewed fob and broke resistor.  I have new, exact fob replacement; followed instructions for programming fob; then disconnected battery in attempt to reset alarm, but the alarm immediately re-arms when re-connecting power and I cannot get fob programmed.  Any help, other than drive the car while alarm sounds??
