Car Alarms: lock/ unlock /trunk release, double pulse, audi a6
QuestionQUESTION: i have been working recently in a AUDI A6 YEAR 2000 i DID a REMOTE STARTER on this vehicle. my problem is the door locks is not working properly .i have installed a avital 4100 form directed so the drivers door unlocks fine in the first push of the botton but the other doors do not respond?i know this car needs a double pulse but still its not working only the front drivers door nothing else, and the trunk release looks like it works with positive pulse my output is negative so do i need a relay?thanks for all the help.
ANSWER: You have to program the 4100 for double pulse, the 4100 does not have a dedicated unlock button, it rotates using the same button for lock and unlock. Look at page 30 of the manual, and change option 15, this will send 2 pulses to unlock when unlocking.

QUESTION: im sorry but i will ask again about trunk release its nescessary a relay?the output from remote starter is a negative wire on this car the trunk release is negative too so what you think?
AnswerYour trunk release is a positive trigger. Your system only puts out a negative, you need to change that negative output to a positive so you definitely need a relay. Here is a diagram on how to wire it:
