QuestionQUESTION: i have a 2000 lancer cedia i got an alarm installed but the installer told me the power window module could not work in my model car because of the way the power window motor and switches are setup, the car has 4 auto window switches on th driver side. could you tell me if he is correct and if there is way that the module can work.
ANSWER: Hard to say since all window mods are different.
If he is unfamiliar with your switch, then I would
ask him what model HE suggests. If he's comfortable
with one he sells, then I say let him do it.
Like I said, if he's telling you in a round about
way he does not trust the one you have will work,
ask him what does, then call him on it, and
have him show you.

QUESTION: he is saying that no module can work on it. he told me that the power window motor has three wires connect to it (1) is a yellow 12 volt (power) (2) is a black (ground) & (3) a green (pulse) and all four windows use this green cable, he said the window switch sends the signal through this green cable telling the window motor if to go up or down, so he said the window module would have to do the same and to his knowledge there is none that can.
ANSWER: This is a 5 wire reverse switching system
and here are the colors and where:
LF Window Up RED/BLACK (REV) AT SWITCH IN DRIVERS DOOR
LF Window Dn GREEN/BLACK (REV) AT SWITCH IN DRIVERS DOOR
RF Window Up BLUE/WHITE (REV) IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL
RF Window Dn BLACK/WHITE (REV) IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL
LR Window Up WHITE (REV) IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL
LR Window Dn BLUE (REV) IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL
RR Window Up BLUE/BLACK (REV) IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL
RR Window Dn GREEN/YELLOW (REV) IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL
If the module you have is not switchable, then
get one that is. That one may simply not do what'he needs to do.

AnswerSorry, If you did not notice, there is a link to the
DEI Q&A forum On the site
you just came from. Was It not functioning?
If not, I'll double check that link right away.
In the meantime, you should take this inquiry
to the 12 volt installers forum.
I don't know DEI products myself,
but the guys over at the forum do.
Good luck.
