Car Alarms: dissable viper, chevy truck, viper alarm

My friend just bought a chevy truck with a viper alarm.It goes of by itself the remote will not stop it and turning in the ignition wont either  she also tried ign on then flip toggle switch with no luck.Any suggestions?
