Car Alarms: How can i make things such as lights turn on when i arm my alarm?, light bars, short period

i was wondering is there a way i can make certain things recieve power when i arm my alarm? such as when i arm my alarm can i have like, my led light bars remain on until i disarm my system?  

Answer
You should be able to, as long as your system offers an 'armed' output.  An armed output is a wire that goes to ground when you arm the alarm, you can use this output to trigger a relay to turn on any device you would like.  Keep in mind however that anything left on is a drain on the battery and will probably kill the battery in a short period of time.  I do not recommend this.
