Car Alarms: Lincoln Town Car alarm problem, lincoln town car, time lincoln

My 1997 Linc Town Car has 71,000 miles.
The factory alarm has a mind of it's own.
It goes off for no reason.  Last night at 2am
i used the remote to shut it off but in a few minutes it went off again.  By the way, it is parked in my garage.
This happened in 2004 also.  At that time, Lincoln dealer disconnected the hood & trunk switchs.
All was ok until  last week when it all started again.
Lincoln dlr says the alarm module will have to be replaced.
BIG DOLLARS!
Is there a better,cheaper way, to solve this problem?
Now I have the horn fuse removed.  Lights still flash and ignition is shut down.

I am not 100% sure, but I do not see why you would not be able to pull a module from the salvage yard to replace your defective unit.
