Car Alarms: 97 surburban factory alarm, alarm batteries, surburban

Batteries when dead on the car now alarm doesnt work.I replace the remotes batteries and follow the dirretions,it didnt work!Went to the dealer and they want $70 to reprogram it I am broke.Can you please help me.I know my way around cars but I am lost about what to do.

Nope, that's a factory remote. They use
the diagonstic plug under the dash to
re do them. Sorry wish I could have
offered an alternative fix for that one.
GM's way of keeping you coming in and spending
money I suspect.

However,

The cheaper way is to simply add
either and aftermarket keyless (44.00)
of keyless-alarm/49.99 & up)

Then install it yourself.
get (2)two fresh new longer range remotes,
and more features, but that's your call.
