Car Alarms: cant get door locks to work with car starter, car starters, maxima gle

Question
I have a 1995 Maxima GLE . Have just installed a Auto Mate car start/alarm Model 552 the install went well car starts but  when it came to do the door locks. all the sites I have been to said to go to the door lock switch a the door. And that it is a Type B and requires a double pulse. me and my friend who has done many car starters could not get it work. can you give me some direction because I'm lost.

It's a negative door lock system that will only
unlock when the unlock wire gets 2 pulses
(push the unlock button twice to unlock.)

Take the lock and unlock (-) output wires
from your alarm, and go directly to the
POWER LOCK|lt. green/red |- |in drivers door at switch
POWER UNLOCK|green/yellow|- |in drivers door at switch

And that's all there is to it.
