Car Alarms: Viper Car Alarm - malfunctioning, viper car alarm, honda prelude

i have a viper car alarm on my honda prelude.  the remote wasn't working so i changed the battery on the key remote.  now when i unlock it, it does so, but then re-locks and the alarm engages.  i can't get into my car.  please help if possible.  thanks!
