Car Stereos: Stereo reception, factory antenna, antenna connector

My wife has a 2008 Nissan Rogue with the factory Bose sound system.The reception is awful. It has an antenna on the roof and in the rear window. I tried buying an aftermarket booster but when I went to install it I found that there isn't an antenna cable coming from the stereo therefore making my aftermarket booster useless. How else can I boost the reception? and why isn't there a cable?

Hi Josh,

The factory antenna wire in a Rogue is inside one of the wire harnesses.  It's a small harness with 2 wires coming out of it.  One is the 12V power to the antenna, and one is the antenna connector itself.

Unfortunately, without a lot of work or an aftermarket deck, putting an antenna booster on it isn't reasonably an option.

And from there, I'm not sure there's much else you can do.
