Car Stereos: about the answer you just gave me, y splitter, amps

I am installing two amps one for a sub and the other for the other speakers.  Will I have to add another converter to install it?

Hi Alex,

This is sort of a trial and error thing.

Typically, no.  You can just use a Y splitter cable and connect and there will be enough voltage to provide a signal to both amps.  (And some amps have a pre-out.)

However, if you find that you can't get the right volume, or require to turn the gain on the amp(s) too high to get the sound you want, you may need a second converter.

Give one a try first, and only get a second if you find it's not working out for you with one.
