Car Stereos: speakers make popping sound when car is started, butt connectors, factory radio
QuestionWOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO IN ORDER TO STOP THE POPPING SOUND WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED ON. Ford 2004 Escape upgraded factory radio and speackers changed to a JVC, but I was told that you need to connect something to stop the popping ... Pls help!!!
AnswerHi Rebecca,
Popping is usually caused by a bad electrical connection or a bad ground somewhere. Make sure the electrical connections going to all of your equipment were made securely with butt connectors at the very least, and soldered/heat shrinked at best.
Unfortunately, it might end up being one of those things you have to live with.
