Car Stereos: need help, dual voice coil, hifonics

I have 2 hifonics  hfx12d4 dvs 4ohms how do I wire  them to my crunch p1400.4??

Hi Reggie,

Unfortunately, that amp and those subwoofers are not a good match.  The amp is only capable of 4ohm when bridged, and your speakers are dual voice coil 4ohm speakers.

The best suggestion I can make for that configuration is to wire each speaker in parallel, and then wire each speaker to a channel on the amp @ 2ohms.

This means wire the negative to negative and positive to positive on each voice coil on the subwoofer.  Then connect the subwoofer to a channel of the amplifier.

Do the same with the other subwoofer, and wire it to another channel on the amp.

This will give you 175w per sub @ 2ohms impedance.
