Car Stereos: Stereo for Mercedes-Benz, becker radio, mercedes benz

I'm looking for an audio unit (CD/Radio) that will fit in my 1999 Mercedes-Benz E300.  I had replaced the original Becker Radio/tape/phone unit with a European Becker CD/Radio.  Extremely easy to pull the old one out using two special keys and insert the new one.  But I want one to which my iPod or iPhone can connect.  Can you recommend one that will fit in as easily as the OE models?

Hi Joe,

Your car features a standard single DIN slot for a deck.  Any single DIN aftermarket deck should fit.  You'll need an antenna adapter and a wire harness (you can get both on ebay for less than $20 usually), and from there it would essentially be plug-and-play.

Unless you have the Bose system, then the adapter might be around $20 instead of less than $20, but even still, it would be a simple install.  On a car like an E300, I would look around for a deck whose lighting matches or can be made to match something similar to the car's interior.
