Car Stereos: 2000 TDI new beetle., top of the line models, alpine radio

what is the best value after market radio for a 2000 TDI new beetle.

Jim, the only aftermarket radio that I buy is Alpine.  Any Alpine radio will sound better than the factory radio.  Other brands may fall short, since most factory stereos are made by the most high-end brands.  There are only a few brands that make a better sounding stereo than factory one, but they are only the top-of-the-line models, such as Clarion, Kenwood, and Nakamichi.  Hope this helps, Scott
