Car Stereos: 04 cavalier, security light, cd play

My husband bought the wiring kit & a cd play for his 04 cavalier. He did what it said & now the stero doesnt work & the theft light keeps coming on. What is causing this?

There are a few things that might be going on with your Cavalier, but I need a little more detail to help you.

Can you tell me the make and model of the wiring kit that your husband purchased?  There are a variety of different adapter modules made for your vehicle, and they don't all work the same way.  Also, which "theft" light is coming on--a light on the new radio, or a security light on the vehicle dashboard display?
