Car Stereos: radio locked in Anti-Theft Mode, 2005 pontiac vibe, pontiac vibe

the radio in my 2005 Pontiac Vibe (basic am/fm cd) is locked in anti-theft mode.  will not come on, red anti-theft light that blinks when the ignition is off, is still blinking when car is on

Hi Kim,

The '05 Vibe if I remember correctly actually has a Toyota deck in it (the Vibe & Matrix are the same car, and the 03/04 had AC Delco decks, but 05-08 had Toyota decks.

A Toyota dealership might be able to help you out.

That said, if the issue is just a blinking red light that doesn't change when you turn the car on, that would suggest it just isn't getting accessory power.  If it were actually locked in anti-theft mode, the screen would come on and ask you to enter the security code.

Check fuses first to make sure it's receiving power from the car.
