Car Stereos: radio and speakers shut off, dodge neon, aftermarket stereo

i my little brother has a 95 dodge neon he had a friend hook up a aftermarket stereo when he turn the radio up it shuts off he has 2 of the same brand speaker in the back but different speakers up front

Hi Joe,

If there's an amplifier installed, it's likely overheating or noticing too much clipping and turning off to protect itself.

If not, the deck itself is doing it.

If you're not turning it up very loud and it's doing it, it will likely need replacement.
