Car Stereos: sub box size, sony xplod, truck space

I was wondering what size box is required for a sony Xplod 1200 watt 10" sub. I have 2 that are in a prefab box but I want to make 2 separate boxes in an effort to gain back some truck space. Thanks for your help.

Brad, Normally, with a 10" sub, .8 cubic feet is required for a sealed enclosure.  Most subs can be lowered to about .6 cubic feet, but some cannot.  There is a formula for finding required box size, and it requires about 4 - 6 of the technical specs of the sub to be calculated.  You will be safe with .8 cubic feet.  Hope this helps, Scott
