Car Stereos: dvd-r doesnt play, little hope, jensen

I have a Jensen VM9312HD indash and when I try to play a dvd-r all it does is loads then ejects or says bad disk. I've tried several disks and have even used a cleaning disk and still nothing. It plays regular dvds fine but not dvd-rs. What should I do?

Hi Mike,

The likely scenario is that the unit is simply incapable of reading DVD-Rs.  If its specs say it will, then you will probably need to find a specific brand that it will read, as some discs are better than others.

If the specs don't say it does, there's little hope for making it work.
