Can/how do i put an aftermarket cd player into my 1998 chevy malibu if it came with a stock am/fm casette player?

Yes, you can install an aftermarket cd player in your car.  They make a mounting kit and wiring adapter that makes it all pretty simple.  If you want to do the work yourself, I would suggest going to Crutchfield.com .  They have competitive prices, plus they include all needed parts and instructions to do the job yourself for free.  Hope this helps, Scott
