Car Stereos: no sound on aftermarket radio, 2005 chrysler 300, amplifier system

i installed an aftermarket head unit on a 2005 chrysler 300 no sound comes using a harness when i put back the stock radio sound comes out i put back the after market sound comes out for a little while then shuts off what can it be ?

Hi Jose,

Is your Chrysler 300 originally equipped with a Boston Acoustics audio system?  If so, you'll need a special adapter to integrate the new head unit with the factory amplifier system.  The Metra part number for the adapter is CHTO-01.

If you don't have the Boston Acoustics system, your problem may be caused by a pinched or shorted speaker wire, or a speaker wiring error.
