Car Stereos: factory installed amp, crossover settings, wire colors

Hi Brian,
I have a factory bose amp that was pulled out from an Infiniti car. the label on the amp read as follow (amp assy ,2440, 051 28060 6p100). I guest my quest is can this amp be integrated with the a after market radio? If so do you know the color code of the wires?

Hi Jose,

In general, factory amplifiers don't integrate well with after-market head units and speaker systems.  The reason is that the amplifier is generally designed for a specific vehicle's speaker package, and will include built-in equalization and crossover settings to work with those particular speakers.  If you try using it to power an after-market speaker system, you're not likely to get good results.  

If you can tell me the year and model of the original Infiniti vehicle, I -might- be able to provide you with some wire colors.  However, I think you'd be better off selecting an after-market amplifier that fits your needs.
