Car Stereos: add an amp, factory radio, speaker wires

I have a 99 Tahoe and I wanted to add an amplifier and subs to my factory radio. What is the part # of the adapter that I should use?

Hi Reg,

There is no specific part # per se.  There's a number of different hardware pieces you can use.

You can use a high-level to low-level output converter, and tap into your speaker wires to get the signal to the amp, or you can use an amp with a high-level input, and run the wires off of the speakers directly to the amplifier.

And a regular amp kit should do the trick for the rest of the install.
