Car Stereos: drycell batt, channel amp, watt amp

I have a 1200 watt sony 12in sub. I drive a 1994 Honda civic sedan. I recently got a 1200watt American Pro 4 channel amp. With my car and audio will i need a suplementary power supply? anything is helpful.

Hi Mike,

There's only one way to find out for sure: hook it up!  In all likelihood though, a '94 Civic is going to need some help powering a 1200 watt amp.

Being a subwoofer, you should be able to get away with a capacitor, but it might be worthwhile (if you can afford it) to also get a higher output alternator.
