Car Stereos: JVC head unit install question, vw golf 2, wiring scheme

Hello,

I just bought a JVC KD-AVX44 deck for my 2001 VW Golf 2.0L 4cyl. 5-speed manual. This car does have the monsoon premium system in it, I was wondering if you could find a wiring guide to install this deck into this car without using an adapter. I want to cut apart the wire harness.

Hi Rob,

I would strongly advise against cutting the harness.  Spend the $10 and just clip on an adapter.  It's a waste of your time and money to cut the wires, and there is no legitimate reason to do it (other than saving $10.)

If you insist on cutting/joining wires, make sure you cut far enough back so you can reconnect the factory harness if you need to later.  The wiring scheme colours can be found here:
