Car Stereos: New Speakers in Avalance, avalance, tweeters

Hi, I have been installing new speakers in my '03 Avalanche, and I just had a few questions. The factory system has a separate speaker and tweeter, but I purchased combo speakers. Do I just leave the factory tweeter unplugged, or do I have to modify the wiring? Also, I have crimped the connections, but have considered going back in and soldering them. Is there any advantage to soldering your connections over crimping them?

If you bought speakers that have the tweeters connected, you can simply leave the other tweeters disconnected.

As for soldering, you will make a cleaner connection that is less likely to come loose with a good solder joint, but it isn't necessary.
