QUESTION: Why does the car radio not go off automatically when I turn the  car engine off.

Could you please tell me what kind of car is it and if its a factory or aftermarket radio.

The car is a fiat Bravo and the stereo is factory fitted.

Answer
The radio stays on when you turn the engine off because the power its controlled by the ignition switch that its controlled by the key.
so in order to turn the car radio off the key has to be in the off position where all the accessories on the car are unpowered.
