Funky fuel tank... How do I really know how much gas in my tank?

There are a few ways to tell how much gas is in your tank.

1. Check the fuel gauge. This is the most obvious way to check your fuel level. The fuel gauge is located on the dashboard of your car, and it indicates how much fuel is in the tank. The gauge is marked with lines that indicate different levels of fuel, from "Full" to "Empty".

2. Look at the gas pump. When you fill up your car, the gas pump will display the number of gallons of fuel that you have purchased. This is a good way to track how much fuel you have added to the tank.

3. Calculate the fuel economy. If you know the fuel economy of your car, you can calculate the amount of fuel in the tank by multiplying the fuel economy by the number of miles you have driven since your last fill-up. For example, if your car gets 30 miles per gallon and you have driven 100 miles since your last fill-up, then you have approximately 3 gallons of fuel in the tank.

4. Use a dipstick. A dipstick is a thin rod that is used to measure the level of fluid in a container. If your car has a dipstick, you can use it to check the level of fuel in the tank. The dipstick is located near the fuel filler neck, and it is usually marked with lines that indicate different levels of fuel.

5. Monitor the range. Most modern vehicles have a range meter that estimates the distance the vehicle can travel on the remaining fuel in the tank. This can give you a general idea of how much gas you have left.
