BMW Repair: old E46 and E39 BMWs, e39 bmw, expansion tank

Hello,

Should the cooling system be overhauled on BMW's with more than 60,000 miles on the odometer ?  I read a lot about the expansion tank cracking and water pumps failing.

What is the ballpark lifespan on the struts and shocks ?

I think the coolant is a 2yr replacement required in the owners manual.The tank cracking and water pump failing are common problems and arent a known time for replacement,checking for cracks and leaks a common visual done.
Struts/shocks are estimated at about 75000 miles
