BMW Repair: SMG transmission gear indicator blinks, ding dong sound, bmw repair

Hi

When I shift into gear with my SMG in an 02 M3 the gear indicator in the dash always blinks.  It never goes to a solid number in the gear indicator.  After driving for a few minutes it will sometimes drop into neutral.  Also hear the ding dong sound when i slow down and hit the break.  Any ideas. i find this answer for another problem

i think i have the break problem but in the answer it did not say how to fix it please help me please thanks

Kevin, you definately need to take the car into a BMW service department and get this diagnosed. This is a complicated system containing Electrical, Hydraulic, and Mechanical components. The fix may be as simple as a faulty SMG relay or maybe very indepth. I couldn't access the link that you referenced.
