BMW Repair: Radio Display, replacable bulbs, work radio

Dear Evan:

1997 328i sedan.  The radio display doesn't work (radio works fine) but when it is in direct sunlight the display is visible.  Is there bulb inside the radio display that needs to be replaced?  If not is there a repair service that you would recommend?

Tony, I can't remember if the radio has replacable bulbs or not. I believe they do. Check out some E36 websites. Bavarian Auto Sport may have the info. Or you can ask one of the other older experts. There are a lot of versions of radios and I am unsure which have replacable bulbs.
