BMW Repair: replace water pump, fan shroud, special tools

Can I replace my own WP on my '95 530i? I have rebuilt Chev 350.  The shop wnats $794.00 to do it...  Is that over priced?  Do I need special tools or any tricks?

you can replace it yourself. its not that hard to do. just remember to keep organized and not rush. there aren't any special tools to perform this and no special tricks. its pretty straight forward. you'll want to remove the fan and fan shroud to gain better access
