BMW Repair: BMW struts, strut assembly, 1998 bmw 328i

I have a 1998 BMW 328i sedan. My mechanic told me that I need struts for my car.  I'm new to the whole bmw thing so I have been looking online for the parts because I can't afford the dealership.  It is the "strut assembly" that I am looking to buy right?  What is the whole "M tech" suspension thing?  I just want to make sure he gets everything he needs to fix the problem.  He told me to just buy the struts.

I assume he is referring to the front struts. Make sure that you are clear as to what he is referring to so you don't order the wrong part. The M-tech refers to certain vehicles that came with M designed suspension such as on the M-3. Some regular 3 series vehicles were available with M suspension
